Portrait of Rep Melvin Everson

Every two weeks, I have an art auction at the Snellville Farmers' Market and 100% of the proceeds go to our local food bank, the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry.

After the Snellville City Council meeting on September 27th, I had the honor of meeting Representative Melvin Everson (R-Ga) . Besides being our state representative, he is also an ordained minister. He is actively engaged in helping food banks.

Dave Emanuel suggested I draw Mr. Everson. That led me to another idea - what if Rep. Everson signed the artwork? That would make it a really nice collectible! He immediately agreed and we have set up a time for him to sign the artwork.
Here is a closer look at the portrait of Rep. Melvin J. Everson.

It is graphite pencil on Strathmore 14"x17" bristol paper. I will have it with me at the October 2nd Snellville Farmers' Market from 8 a.m. to noon, and can accept your silent auction bids until bidding ends at noon on October 9th. It's as simple as sharing your contact info on an index card in case you are the highest bidder, and writing the amount you'd be willing to pay.

If you would like to submit a bid via email, email me with "Everson Auction" as your email subject line. Simply bid the highest amount that you would be willing to pay for the artwork. Keep in mind that if you live more than 10 miles from Snellville Georgia, the artwork will need to be mailed to you via UPS at a fee of $15. Email your bids to
