Our 4th of July cake

My father-in-law sent us these photos. This is the cake we made for the 4th of July. Our presentation leaves a lot to be desired, but it is what it is...lol.

It's just a basic 9"x13" yellow cake. I let the kids frost it with Cool Whip Free, then they put the blueberries and strawberry slices on to make it look like the good old stars and stripes. It tasted really good, and it was a fairly healthy dessert. I think the kids really enjoyed being involved in the decorating. It gave them an activity to do besides tearing up their uncle's house.

Pepsi and Cool Whip...I don't think we could be more American! :)
